YOUR PARTNER
A grid-scale asset needs a partner, not a supplier
A battery on the grid runs for fifteen to twenty years and earns across markets that keep changing. What decides whether it performs is not a datasheet — it is whether one team stands behind the cells, the software, the engineering and the service for the whole of that life.
01
BESS experts, not a reseller
Eight years and over 50 MWh in the field. Our answers come from experience rather than a catalogue or tender. We know where these systems fail, and we engineer that out before it reaches your site.
02
Our own software and cybersecurity team
Control, integration and cybersecurity come from our own developers. Swiss software and Swiss data storage, designed along StromVG/StromVV, the ICT minimal standard and NIS-2, and kept current against them.
03
Swiss engineering and project management
Sizing, grid connection concept, commissioning and prequalification are handled by our own engineers and project managers in Switzerland. One team carries the project from signature to market participation.
04
After sales in the heart of Europe
Service, spare parts and remote support from our Swiss After Sales Hub. Short distances, no dependency on a foreign supplier chain, and the people who built the system are the ones who service it.
MARKETS
Where the asset earns
All of these are front-of-the-meter applications: the asset participates directly in grid-level electricity markets rather than optimizing consumption behind a customer meter. That is where the commercial potential of grid-scale storage in Switzerland is concentrated.
FCR — primary control
Frequency containment reserve on the fastest product, where the battery has its structural advantage over conventional plant.
aFRR
Automatic frequency restoration reserve, prequalified and steered continuously through the EMS.
mFRR
Manual frequency restoration reserve, called on demand and served from the same asset.
Balancing group optimization
Offset schedule deviations within your balancing group (BGO) instead of settling them at imbalance prices.
Energy trading / arbitrage
Exploit price spreads between trading intervals, steered by the EMS or your trading partner.
Grid stability and black start
Grid support and black-start capability for the network operator, in grid-forming operation.
Capacity market / grid reserve
Provision of grid reserve through capacity mechanisms.
Renewable integration
Smooth feed-in fluctuations from PV and wind and keep the connection within its limits.
SYSTEM
Container, SKID, transformer station
No two grid-scale sites have the same constraints, so we hold several solutions in our portfolio and combine them to meet the exact requirements of your project. The e-Container carries the battery as a DC block, the SKID carries the inverter, and the transformer station steps up to your medium voltage.

- 2.7 MW / 5.6 MWh as one DC container
- Connected to a 5.5 MVA SKID
- 2-hour or 4-hour system
- Cell type LFP (CATL), 530 Ah
- Cycle count ≥ 10,000, liquid cooling
- Modular build, acoustic enclosure optional
- Dimensions 6058 × 2438 × 2896 mm
- Communication Modbus TCP/IP, IP level IP55
- Smaller versions upon request
SWISS SOFTWARE
Swiss software, Swiss data storage
Control and monitoring come from Libattion. A secure upstream interface lets you or your trading partner steer the asset across markets, so switching between revenue sources — from SDL to BGO and later to intraday — stays simple. The platform is designed along the principles of StromVG/StromVV with the ICT minimal standard and NIS-2, and developed further against them.
Developed and hosted in Switzerland.

FAQ
Frequent questions
How does prequalification with Swissgrid work?
The asset is prequalified for the ancillary services product you intend to market, either directly or through your pooler. Our software provides the control and measurement interfaces the process requires, and we support the technical part of the prequalification.
What does the grid connection look like?
The e-Container X feeds at 690 VAC into the transformer station, which steps up to medium voltage. Various RMUs are available for levels from 10 to 24 kV, in 3 MVA and 6 MVA stations, matched to your network requirement.
Who steers the asset?
You decide. A secure upstream interface allows you, your pooler or your asset manager to steer the asset, or the installation is integrated through your existing EMS. Communication runs over Modbus TCP/IP.
How is cybersecurity and regulation handled?
The platform is designed along the principles of StromVG/StromVV with the ICT minimal standard in Switzerland and NIS-2 in the EU, and we develop it further against those requirements. Control and data storage are Swiss software and Swiss data storage.
What is the lead time?
6 to 9 months, depending on scope of supply. Our references speak for themselves: we have taken a project from signature to market participation on medium voltage within 9 months.
What about warranty and service?
Up to 10 years of warranty and full service from Libattion — one counterparty for hardware, software and support, with the After Sales Hub in Switzerland.
